  • Are VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO proximity cards rewritable?

    No. VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO proximity cards are read-only and cannot be reprogrammed. Each card comes pre-programmed from the factory with a unique 10-digit identification number, which is printed on the card's surface for easy reference.

  • Do these proximity cards work with 125 kHz readers?

    Yes. The VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO model is compatible with 125 kHz access control systems, as well as 13.56 MHz systems, provided that your reader uses the same frequency without encryption (unencrypted).

  • How do I program a VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO proximity card in my access control system?

    You don't need to “program” the card itself, since it comes pre-encoded with a unique factory-assigned number. To activate it, simply enter that ID number (printed on the card or automatically read by your reader) into your access control system's software or control panel. Once the number is saved in the system, the card is ready for immediate use.

  • Are VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO cards printable?

    Yes. They are made of white PVC with a glossy finish and are compatible with Direct-to-Card (DTC) printers, making them ideal for personalizing with a logo, name, or photo of the user.

  • What is the difference between these cards and an IC or NFC card?

    VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO cards are 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz RFID ID cards; they are neither IC nor NFC cards. If you plan to integrate them into your lock or access system, make sure it operates on the same unencrypted RFID frequency.

  • What is the size of the VIS-PROXCARD-COMBO proximity cards?

    They are the standard size of a credit card: 85.5 x 54 x 0.84 mm (3.36 x 2.12 x 0.033 in), so they fit easily in a wallet or card holder.

  • Are they water-resistant?
