Can this electromagnetic lock used for a sliding door?

Yes, it can.
Does the maglock make an audible sound when unlocked? Does it open the door slightly? How will customers know the door has been unlocked?

The lock makes a sound when unlocking, but it may not be very noticeable in noisy areas. It also has an LED indicator: the light turns off when unlocked and green when locked. Some users add a buzzer for a clearer sound.
What happens to the maglock when the power goes out?

This is a Fail Safe or Normally Close lock, meaning it will unlock without power. You can add a battery backup to keep the lock engaged in case of an outage.
