  • Can this buzzer be used outdoors?

The VIS-BZ-100 is designed for indoor use only. Exposing it to rain, humidity, or extreme temperatures could damage it or cause it to malfunction.

  • Is it loud enough for a large room?

The Visionis VIS-BZ-100 Piezo Buzzer has a sound output of 90 dB (measured at 30 cm / ~12 inches), that is roughly equivalent to the volume of a lawn mower or a busy restaurant β€” quite loud up close. However, sound diminishes with distance β€” in a large room, it may be audible but not prominent, especially with background noise.

It's adequate for small-to-medium rooms and close-range door alerts, but may not be sufficient as the sole alert device in a large or noisy space.

  • Can multiple buzzers be wired together?

Yes, multiple VIS-BZ-100 buzzers can generally be wired together β€” here's how:

    Wiring in Parallel (Recommended):
    1. Connect all buzzers in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative) from the same power/signal source (Make sure your power supply or access controller output can handle the combined current draw)
    2. Each buzzer draws only 20mA at 12V, so wiring multiple units together has a low power impact
    3. Place buzzers strategically throughout the large room for even sound coverage

  • How to wire it into an access control system?

    1. Identify the buzzer output on your access controller β€” most controllers have a dedicated "buzzer," "alarm," or "door alert" output terminal (usually labeled BZ+/BZ- or AUX+/AUX-)
    2. Connect the red wire (+) from the buzzer to the positive (+) terminal on your controller's buzzer/auxiliary output
    3. Connect the black wire (-) from the buzzer to the negative (-) or ground (GND) terminal
    4. Power source: The buzzer runs on 12–24V DC β€” it can be powered directly from the controller's auxiliary output or from your system's power supply
