Retail Business Security Systems

With a large number of strangers walking through retail businesses, retailers have their own unique set of security needs. We offer retailers two professional entry access solutions: software access control kits and standalone, wireless access kits/non software access control kits that operate without software.

At a bare minimum, magnetic locks should be used by retail establishments. These locks are sometimes referred to as mag locks or electromagnetic locks.

Access control technology is a type of risk management, which is becoming increasingly important. Restriction of access to various areas of your business protects your employees, information and property. This technology involves the use of three stages: identification, authentication, and authorization. All of these stages must work for the system to remain secure.

The user must provide a key, card, token, or something else as identification when attempting to get into a locker or gain access through a gate, turnstile or door. Keypad entry systems and biometric readers are used for higher-security areas where specific user identification is needed.

The user system takes the identification information and determines whether or not the user is authorized to gain access. It will also determine if the input method (card, token, etc.) is acceptable. Once the identity is authenticated, the system will authorize the user to gain entry.

This technology affects many different types of environments. Some of the more common access controls include locker controls, biometric readers, gate entry systems, ticket entry terminals, automatic doors, revolving doors, car park systems, portable turnstiles, and regular turnstiles. Automatic doors can be used to keep people locked in rather than locked out, which is especially useful for business owners to quickly get criminals apprehended after committing videotaped armed robberies.

A push to exit button is useful for handicapped people to use to leave a building. They are commonly found at hospital exits and in other businesses where a large number of wheelchair users go. Smart phone controlled buzz in kits unlock the door for you as your vehicle approaches your house or business, using the phone’s GPS system.
